Gottlieb Heinrich Ottenbacher (Henry) left Germany January 8th, 1868 on a Ship called SS Germania, which was built in 1862. Gottlieb was born in Murrhardt Germany 17 September 1834. The SS Germania arrived in New York on 23 January 1868. Gottlieb was 33 years old at the time and he liked to be call Henry (short for his middle name). There were 114 passenger's on board and 25 of them were children under 18 years old. Gottlieb then migrated to Indiana, where he met his new wife Catherine Bierly and married her on 8 April 1869. He then started working as a Black Smith (Schmid in German) and drove his horse 11 miles each day to the county seat which is Brazil, Indiana. He had five children, one of the children worked on the Railroad, and ended up in Spokane Washington in 1890. His name is William. He met his wife in the same area, and discovered a Gold Mine in Idaho. They called it the Mary Lou Gold Mine. They then moved to Colville Washington in 1917.
