|This site was originally slated by me for the Otto Ottosen and Peter Hill family history information. However it is becoming much more than that. Now included are the Wolf and Adams families, welcome to the descendants of those familes that are just now visiting our site!
Otto is the son of Otto Jensaness and Aasa Romsaland. Otto Jensaness died in Hougesund, Norway in 1863. Aasa immigrated to the US in 1863 with her four young son's and settled in near Creston, Illinois.
Peder Pederson (Peter Hill) and Kari Olsdotter Hidle (Caroline Hill) immigrated from Nord Hidle, one of the Sjernaroy Islands from Norway in 1849 to a settlement near Leland, Illinois. The island's name has changed over the years, Hile in 1390, Helle in 1519, and Hidle in 1610. The island is a little over a mile long, a little over one-half mile wide, and about four hundred acres in area. The Hills have owned the northern part of the island which comprises most of the land that can be cultivated.
This latest information was provided by a descendant of Peter O. Hill, a brother of our Anna Karena Hill (Caroline Hill), notice the spelling of her name in the previous paragraph, this is the correct Norwegian spelling and full name. The updated area is the is the Ola Olson Foss report. This adds two generations to show Anna Karena's parents and grand parents. With the information I have it will perhaps extend to the 1400's.
Welcome to our latest additions to ancestors found. Hello Paul to you and your family in Dawson, Happy Holidays. Glad to have you all on board.
Hello to my family members that visit!
