If you would not be forgotten, as soon as you are dead and rotten; Either write things worthy of reading, or do things worthy of writing." -- Benjamin Franklin, May 1738
Please remember that two people can read the same will and see something different, so if you see an error PLEASE!! let me know. This is one reason why it is very important to find the record before accepting information as fact. I am not a professional genealogist (in truth now where near it), but I do want accurate records, and I would love to know collateral lines.
Surnames: Kittrell, Jones, McLawhorn, Little, Evans, Tull, Tucker, Jackson, Dail, Sermons, Willoughby, White. Those are the main surnames.
I want to thank Bill Kittrell, Pitt County Researchers, Lisa Scarola, Lisa did all the research of the Sermons/Willoughby line, and the web site, Kittrells of America. Without their research, this project would take longer. I want to acknowledge the report of Edward Tull. I especially want to acknowledge Beulah Kittrell Jones, my mother, without her notes and enthusiasm, this would not be. She would be pleased that I am doing this.
I want to THANK Marva Ruth McCormick Bigler, who is the gg grandaughter of William Churchwell Little. She is g grandaughter of Francis Marion Little and grandaughter of Charles Francis Little. My g grandfather, William Samuel and Francis Marion were brothers.
PLEASE NOTE: RESEARCH IS STILL GOING ON. I am still finding incorrect information, and I do want to stress that due to human error, please do not take this research as gospel. Use this information as a guide, only. If you see any errors, corrections, or information I have over looked please e-mail, write or call me and let me know.
Genealogy without documentation is nothing.

Daughter, if you don't remember us, who will?
And Remember: The cemetery where your ancestor was buried does not have perpetual care, has no office, is accessible only by a muddy road, has snakes, tall grass, and lots of bugs--and many of the old gravestones are in broken pieces, stacked in a corner under a pile of dirt.
******** PLEASE NOTE-THE REPORT OF JONATHAN KITTRELL 1 DESCENDANTS WAS COMPILED BY SAMUEL McAliley ADMINISTRATOR OF KITTRELLS OF AMERICA. ***********
MCLawhorn, McGlawhorn, Lawhorn, McGlohorn, McGlohon, -in other words this name has various spellings.
Worthington-Weathington, Witherington, WIDDRINGTON. The Widdrington/Worthington/Weatheington line originated in Northumberland Co, England. The Widdringtons were Jacobites. They were for the Stuart cause.
The Deale, Dail, were originally from the Lowlands of Scotland. You can find the different variations as Deel, Deal, Deale, Dail, Dale. The name is Dalziel pronounced "dee-ell" with the emphasis on the second syllable.
I will try to post various spellings as I find them.
As it is, I am unable to find out whether Catherals/Kittrells are connected. So, I have just started with Jonathan Kittrell.
