Notes for THOMAS CARAWAY:
In 1729 Thomas Carraway, with most of his father's family, came from Princess Anne Cty, VA to settle along the lower Neuse River in Craven Cty, NC (it was then Craven Precinct) In 1767 James Clayton of Hyde (but originally of Kent, Cty De) acquired property along the Lower Broad Creek, near the mouth of Neuse. Claytons and Carraways had adjacent property on the north side of the Lower Broad.

In 1750 Thomas Caraway was listed in the militia Company of Capt. Shearard.
