MONTE E. HORTON OBIT
Major Monte E. Horton, USAF Retired, went to be with the Lord September 1, 2000 at the ag e o f 67 following a courageous battle with cancer. He proudly served his country for 26 yea rs i n the U.S. Air Force. After retirement from the military, he began his civilian caree r in ed ucation. He worked for 20 years for Judson ISD, retiring in 1999. He was formerly o f Wood H i, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father, Ab Horton. He is survived by hi s wife, Me redyth Jo Horton; daughter and son-in-law Tonya and Nathan Kidwell; son and daught er-in-law L amar and Stephanie Horton; two grandchildren, Sydney and Tyler Horton, mother Flo rence Horton , sister and brother-in-law Margie and Ken Sparks; sister, Yvonne Moore; siste r and brother-i n-law Annette and Bill Holcomb; sister and brother-in-law Sharon and Butch Ke ene and numerou s nieces and nephews. He was very much loved and will be greatly missed by h is family and fr iends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday September 6, 2000 at Colonial F uneral Home. Fun eral Services will take place at Live Oak First Baptist Church on Thusday , September 7, 200 0 with Pastor Rob Phillips reciting. Interment will follow with full mili tary honors in For t Sam Houston National Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Ho me, 625 Kitty Haw k Rd., Universal City, TX 78148.
