Notes for ARCHIBALD CARAWAY:
Another researcher says he was born on the 19th. Records from Willie King via county records shows the 9th. And since this is Willie's direct line I feel his is the more reliable date .

The information for Archibald Caraway and his two wives and children is from the quarterly Carraway Family News Vol 1, No 1 dated March 30, 1989 articles "Archibald Caraway Cemetery" and Archibald Caraway Bible Record pp 4,5. Submitted by Miss Mary J. Berry, adddress--391 8 N. State St., Jackson, Hinds Cty, MS.

The cemetery is located 5 miles west of Wadesboro, NC between Wadesboro and Polktown, on Highway #74 in the central-west part of Anson Cty, NC. Copied by Rosalind A Renfearn (Mrs. J. Coit) on 9 Sept 1947.

The Archibald Caraway family Bible was originally owned by Miss Wincy J. Caraway (1947) now (1955) deceased.

Bible published by Mathew Carey, address 122 Market St., Philadelphia. Date published 1811.

From Caraway Family News Vol 3 #1, p1, dated 31 March 1991, in an article by Bettye Schmidt Rathbone titled "The Caraway Family of Gonzales, Texas", she writes, "The name Colin is unusual for women and originated in the Caraway family in Sampson County, NC. Bedreadon Caraway, Sr. a Lieutenant in the American Revolution and a resident of Sampson Cty in 1790 named a daughter Colin (or Colen) Caraway. She was born 4 Feb 1779 and married first, John Beaman and second Hardy Royal".
