The Owens Family of Eastern North Carolina

I am researching the descendants (and the ancestors) of John W. Owens of eastern North Carolina. John W. Owens (b.1848) was my great-great-grandfather. His parents were Newitt Drew Owens (b.1815) and wf. Mary Ann Thigpen (b.1825). John W. Owens was married to Viola ? (b. 1855). They had several children, one of which was my great-grandfather, Patrick Andrew Owens (b.11/15/1869 d. 5/6/1930). He was married to Pencilla Ward (b. 7/18/1863 d. 3/22/1968). They parented my grandfather, Charlie Benjamin Owens (b. 2/10/1897 d. 2/3/1968) and four other children, Seth McCoy Owens (b. 12/3/1905 d. 12/21/1980), Frank W. Owens (b. 4/24/1891 d. 7/1995), Mary Owens and Myrtie Owens.
