Owens / Farr / Anders Family Page in East Tennessee

On 4/26/1999 I started research for the Owens Family from Knoxville & Dandridge Tennessee. So far my father Donald E. Owens was born in Knoxville in 1921 and died in 1976. His Father Oscar O. Owens was born in Fannin Co. Texas in 1880, moved to Dandridge, Jefferson Co. Tennessee then on to Knoxville for the last 25 years of his life. He died in 1951 and is buried in Dandridge. His father is John B. Owens born in either Jefferson or Claiborne Co. in 1827. After marrying Catherine (Lichlyter) Miller (Widowed) in 1874 in Jefferson Co. they moved to Texas where Catherine died in 1885 and John in 1913.

On my mothers side my grandparents are from Knoxville (Anders-Maternal) and Maryville (Farr-Paternal)(late 1800's to 1960's). My great grandparents Samuel Jasper Farr and Tennessee (Tennie) Orlena Beatty were born around the time of the Civil War and both are buried in Magnolia Cemetery in Blount Co. Samuel Jasper Farr's parents are Absolom T Farr b. c1825-1903 buried at Peck's Chapel in Blount Co. He married Lucinda McPherson in 1849 in Blount Co. TN. Absolom's parents are Samuel Farr born 1793 married Elizabeth Boren in 1817 in Blount Co. TN. My GGrandparents on my mothers side are William J. and Emma (Brooks)Anders of Knox Co. TN. His parents are David and Mary Emiline Anders. Mary died 1/30/1921 in Knoxville at a reported age of 100 to 105 years of age.
