I am actively researching all these lines and would be more than happy to hear from other researchers.
Please email me if you have or would like more information. If you are on genes reunited much of this is also available there.

The main lines are the Owen family from Warwickshire, the Shearer and connected families from the Orkney Islands, the Bower family from Ashover, Derbyshire and the Gaskell, Rogerson, Morris ,Mayers ,Bowers and related families from Stockport, Manchester and Cheshire.

The direct Owen family line has not got very far back. Anyone with information on the Owens from Temple Balsall, Berkswell, Foleshill and surrounding areas in Warwickshire in the late 1700's or early 1800's please contact me.

Other branches such as the Mildon and Bending families from Devon reach back to the 1500's.

There is now extensive information on the Whitehouse family who mostly emigrated to the USA and Canada.Contact from any more USA or Canada descendents would be welcomed.Recently added more Nelthorpe family, some of whom went to the USA and Australia.

The Shearer branch from Stronsay Orkney is extensive and growing rapidly and inludes a large number of related families. As well as the direct upward tree there are several downward branches. please email me with any additions or corrections. I have also incuded some as yet unrelated Shearer families from Stronsay. The Twatt banch is also now extensive and covers many of the Stronsay Twatts.

The Bower family traces back to the 1200's in Derbyshire although pre 1600 still needs further substantiation as much of it is from an unverified source.

The Gaskell branch is still growing rapidly. This covers various families in Cheshire and Lancashire including Rogerson, Bowers, Nicholson, Morris and Perry .The Gaskells trace back to around 1600 in Lyme Handley.

Further information provided with thanks by John Shearer and Ralph Hawkins, Alan Nichol, Ann Slater, William Campbell, and others including numerous Whitehouse and Shearer descendants in particular.
