* The Bob Owen & Jane Howe Family Home Page*

Updated April 22, 2007

Although Owen is a Welsh name, my parents are both alleged to have Scottish ancestry. My father's branch came from Gloucestershire (Owen, Holyoake & Scrivens) & Gravesend (Watson) and were publicans; my mother's (Evans - also Welsh) from Gloucestershire (also Stallard, Hall, Smith, Pember, Parsons, Surrell, Weaver, Tombs, Surrell) and were mainly farm labourers.
Jane's father's side (Howe) originated from Ireland but came to England to work on the railways near Peterborough but moved to Manchester- they probably were originally Hough. Her mother's family (Osborn) come from Cheshire and had money.

I am back to the late 1700's with many branches and still progressing - I may be back to 1515 with Smith but need to verify this.
