MARSHALL MORTON, Sr. was born appr. 1755, location unknown. He lived in NC & SC, appearing in the 1790 and 1800 SC Federal Census. From SC, Marshall and many of his sons, if not all, moved to Alabama. In Alabama, they lived in Blount, Marshall and Etowah Counties. Marshall and his wife, Winnie, had children: 1)JOHN M. b 1784 NC, married NANCY SCARBORO. John and Nancy moved to Anderson Co., TX about 1840. 2) JENOTHAN JOEL MORTON, b April 25, 1786, married LUCY DURHAM. 3) WILLIAM M. MORTON, b appr 1788, married to Elizabeth ?, d. 1850. 4)JAMES MORTON, b abt 1789 Pendleton Dist. SC, married to MARY ANN DURHAM, 5) MARSHALL MORTON, JR. b Sept. 29, 1792 SC. Married to ELIZABETH DURHAM. 6) DRURY ASHCRAFT MORTON, b 1799 SC. 7) JOSHUA MORTON, b 1802 SC married to EDITH BYNUM. Proven daughters were SARAH, MARY, NELLIE.
