Departed this life, on the evening of the 10th February last, at his residence in this district, Major Andrew Weed, in the 86th yer of his age.Mr. Weed was born in the state of New York, on the 11th of March, 1764, and his parents removed with him to this district in the year 1775, where he has resided ever since.He was a soldier in the Revolution under Gen. Pickens, and although not having participated in any of the great battles of those times, was in frequent skirmishes with the Indians, and rendered the County efficient services.He has been a member of the Presbyterian Church for sixty-five or seventy years and a ruling elder fifty.He left behind an aged widow, with whomhe lived in wedlock sixty-three years.
