My search for surnames includes my maiden name - Hollar - as wellas Buckingham, Hornbaker, Grafton, Cushing and Collins. The Hollars lived in Pennsylvania for many generations before moving west to Michigan, North Dakota and Montana. The Buckinghams lived in Virginia and Maryland. I have traced this line to Thomas Buckingham who married Mary Stophel in Baltimore, Maryland in 1793. But I am very interested in tracing the family back further to find where they came from i.e. England etc. The Hornbakers came from New Jersey to Manassas, Virginia but my search is for the New Jersey Hornbakers - prior to 1839. The Collins family - my paternal grandmother's maiden name - was in Indiana around 1880 but my search has been virtually non- productive to date. I would love to share any information I have with interested parties and would enjoy hearing from anyone with these same surnames. |
