The Amos family of Nottingham and London, England

Updated October 5, 2002

I am researching the Amos and Waldock families from England(my father's side) and the Bromfield and Gell families, also from England (my mother's side).

The Bromfield family, also spelled Broomfield in some records, seem to have come from rural Lincolnshire. The Waldock family seem to have come from Ashwell in Hertfordshire.

I am having much more difficulty in tracing the Gell's and the Amos's! I am looking for a Thomas Gell, father of Edward Gell (born 1847, date of death unknown). Thomas was a blacksmith, and probably came from the Nottingham area. I am also looking for link to the Amos's in Peckham and Brixton, London in the mid 1800's.

I will be glad to hear from any one who may have information, and also to share discoveries that I make.
