| My gr-gr-grandfather Josef F. KRIEGISCH came to America in 1894 as a widower with his three young children: Josef Adolph, Gustav Joseph and Bertha Theresa. Josef F.'s wife Theresa Nitsche had died in 1893. This is a brief story of this family. I am looking for other KRIEGISCH'S and their decendents living within the United States and in other countries, mainly germany, Austria and Czech-Republic. Some of the family names I have found common in my research consist of NITSCHE, POMPE, HECKLE, HOCKENBERG/HACKENBERG, BECKE, SEIFERT, just to name a few. My family originally came from the Austrian-Hungarian Empire, in the village of Oberthomasdorf and Thomasdorf--Friewalau, today part of the Czech-Republic.
