My Family Tree on my father's side of the family goes back to 1636 when the ship "Arbella"- the flagship of the "Winthrop Fleet of 1630"- first sailed into Boston with Richard Webb aboard. Our Webb family is indirectly related to the family of John Adams, whose Braintree, MA childhood neighbor and Harvard colleague was Nathan Webb. Our direct descendants began in England before making their home in Stamford, CT. Two generations later Samuel Webb moved to Goshen, Orange Co.,NY. where they lived for many generations.

The Crafts side of my family is descended from Griffin and Alice Crafts, who also sailed in one of the 11 vessels that comprised The Winthrop Fleet. Thomas Crafts, a member of the Sons of Liberty, was the man who read the newly-ratified Declaration of Independence to the City of Boston for the first time from the balcony of the Olde South Meeting House. Abigail Adams wrote about her experience that day in one of her famouse published letters. Third generation Samuel Craft was a prominent man who ended up owning over 160 acres in Roxbury,MA. The Craft family also lived in Newton, Brookline and Brockton, MA before moving to Hebron and Auburn, Maine.

I began working on my family tree while living outside of Boston. This gave me a first hand look at the impact the early settlers of new England had on the foundation of our country. It has been exciting seeing the "Webb" headstones located in the Granary Cemetary and the "Crafts-Bell Tomb" in the King Phillip Cemetary. Both cemetaries can be seen while walking along the famous Freedom Trail in downtown Boston.

The Archer Family is related to the Webb side of the family. I have in my posession our Archer Family Bible. I still have many questions as to the beginning of the Archer part of our Tree. I know they lived in Hamptonburg, Orange Co.,NY and my Great Great grandfather was buried in the Archer Family Plot in Washingtonville Cemetary. They married into the Carpenter family, whom I have very little information about.

My Husband David Page is an 11th generation direct descendant- from his mothers' side of the family- of Miles Standish. We are truly a family of Old New England "Blue-Bloods"!

Please feel free to contact me if you are a part of our Family and/or if you have any letters, pictures, stories or information you would like to share.
