This is for my Grand children and for generations to come. For many years I have wondered about my family history, as we all have. Well one day I asked my mother if she would like to go to Austria with me and see family that she had only seen once in 1970. I met Great Aunts and cousins I didn't even know that I had. I loved the village they grew up in and to see the houses they were born in. The Wippel house was built in 1642 and has been in the Wippel family since 1648 to this day. I also managed to get pictures from the relatives of my Great Grandmother and Great Grandfather. I went to the town hall and asked if I could find copies of birth certificates and they brought this huge book out the size of a desk with the brown edges. I couldn't believe my eyes. They asked me the year (1899) and there was the original birth registry of my mother and both of her parents as well as the names of their parents. I proceeded across the street and there was a monument for the WWI veterans and my Great Grandfathers name was on it with the year he died. I can't wait to go back look for more information and to see my new found relatives.
