"History of Fayette County, Pennsylvinia" page 663 under heading of Methodist Episcopal Church of New Salem says "Public worship by Methodists was held in the New Salem school-house in 1834, and in that year a class was organized with twleve members. Among these were Booth McCormick and wife, Richard Miller and wife, Mr. Carpenter, his wife and wife's sister, and Nancy Whitehill. Booth McCormick was the leader. In 1840 a spirited revival set in and about forty person joined the church. In 1850 a house of worship was built, and in 1851 the membership was fully one hundred and twenty-five."

Notes for Adam TRONE:
Adam TRONE with his wife, children and grandchildren ( Susannah, and maybe other of their children had preceded them to Illinois) came from Smith's Station, York Co, PA to Schuyler Co, IL in the summer of 1856. They came by railroad from Smith's Station to Chicago, IL where they stayed for a few days. Then they went by the Rock Island Railroad from Chicago to Peru, IL where they stayed at a German Hotel and Beer Garden for about a week waiting for a steam boat which took them down the Illinois River to Sharps Landing, near Butlerville (now Sheldon Grove) Schuyler Co, IL. then overland by wagon to a farm in Rushville Township, Schuyler Co, IL (Section 12) owned by their son-in-law and daughter, Susannah and ____KALEBAUGH.
