The John Thomas of Tasmania Australia

Updated January 12, 2003

***
I have started to research my Grandmothers family on her fathers side.
John Thomas was born in 1841,unsure where, and married Jessie Smith in 1863 in Hobart Tasmania.
There they had 12 children. At some time I think they imigrated to New Zealand, but I have not yet discovered when, there is no mention of marriage of any of the children or deaths other then those that died as children in Tasmania. One of there sons was John Henry Thomas who married a Florence Honeybun in Waihi New Zealand, they had four children one being my grandmother Ivy Marion Thomas. John Henry Thomas died in a mining accident and Florence died when my grandmother was 8 years old, not a lot is know regarding this side of the family. If anyone has any information that might be of use it would be much appreciated.
