Dorothy Mae Carswell (daughter of Isaih J. Carswell and Florence Carswell) was born 09/24/1924 in Burke County , NC, and died 03/30/1998 in Zion Hill Babtist Church, Lawndale,NC.
Notes for Dorothy Mae Carswell: Dorothy Mae Carswell Morganton, NC 73, of Enola Raad, died after a period of declining health. Born Sept. 11, 1924, in Burke County, she was a daughter of the late Isiah and Florence Carswell Carswell. A member of Zion Hill Babtist Church, she was a former employee of Morganton Hosiery, where she worked for 45 years. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ervin Carswell, Rassie Carswell and Clayton Carswell. Survivors include a daughter, Gearldine Smith of Morganton; two brothers, Arnold Carswell and Ben Carswell of Morganton; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted by the Revs. Ron Watts and Dean Morgan at 2pm Wednesday at her chruch. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes priour to the funeral service. Burial will be in the chruch cemetery. The family will be at Sossoman Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 tonight. Sossoman Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
