Thomas Wood was a farmer in Montgomery County, Maryland. In 1803 they moved to Clifton Springs, New York.

7. ANN⁶ FERGUSON (WILLIAM⁵, DAVID⁴, ROBERT³, GEORGE², JAMES¹) was born 1773 in Bladensburg, Prince Georges County, Maryland. She married EDWARD PEERCE.

Notes for EDWARD PEERCE:
From the book "The Ferguson Family in Scotland and America" By M. L. Ferguson

Mr Peerce was a native of Bristol England. On his voyage to America he was shipwrecked on the Island of St, Kitts, of the West Indies.

Mr and Mrs Peerce settled on the land supposed to have been the homestead of Robert Ferguson where the city of Washington is now located, on land opposite to where the White House stands and in the rear of Jackson's monument. Mr Peerce sold this property to the United States Government and moved to Baltimore. His deed is the oldest on record for this property, but the officials in the land office state that he was not the first settler on this land.

After he went to Baltimore, he purchased of Daniel Dullaney, a fine farm at the head of a beautiful valley in Baltimore County, Maryland, called Dullaney's Valley, from its former owner.

9. JAMES⁶ FERGUSON (WILLIAM⁵, DAVID⁴, ROBERT³, GEORGE², JAMES¹) was born 30 July 1774 in Prince Georges County, Maryland ², and died 06 March 1845 in Albion, Orleans County, New York². He married MARY WEYLIE. She was born 05 May 1788², and died 18 April 1861 in Albion, Orleans County, New York².

Notes for JAMES FERGUSON:
James and Catherine were the oldest children of William and Elizabeth and were twins.

James was a miller and settled in Washington DC

Indenture made November 11th 1806 between Asa Lanham of Prince Georges County, of the one part, and James Ferguson of Wshington, DC, of the other part, witnesses that Asa Lanham for $100.00 paid by David Ferguson sells lands near Rock Creek containing 84 acres

James and his wife left Washington DC in 1807 and settled in the western part of the State of New York. They settled at Orleans about three miles south of his fathers land.

Notes for HENRY WIRT:
Henry Wirt moved to New York State in the year 1803. He settled in the town of Phelps. east of Clifton Springs, near what is known as "Tilot's Corners".

ROBERT BELL⁶ FERGUSON (WILLIAM⁵, DAVID⁴, ROBERT³, GEORGE², JAMES¹) was born 05 January 1777 in Bladensburg, Prince Georges County, Maryland ³, and died 25 February 1858 in Clifton Springs, Ontario County, New York. He married MARY BAGGERLY 25 December 1808. She was born 10 August 1789, and died 25 February 1858 in New York.

THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF ROBERT BELL FERGUSON, OF PHELPS, ONTARIO, NEW YORK

I, Robert B. Ferguson, considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound mind and memory, blessed be Almighty God for the same, do make this and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following:

First I give and bequeath unto my wife, Mary Ferguson, for and during her natural life, twenty-five acres of land lying on the north of the farm deeded to my two sons, Robert Bell Ferguson and Edwin Ferguson, and being part of said farm bounded on the north by lands owned by John H. Ferguson on the east by the same, on the south by lands deeded by me to Robert B. and Edwin Ferguson, on the west by Flint Creek, to contain twenty-five acres of land, be there more or less;also all of the household good subject to her disposal. I will to my daughter Ann, four hundred dollars, to be paid out of my property.

I will to my daughter, Mary Cuer, two hundred and fifty dollars to be paid within three years after my death.

I will to my daughter, Julina Runyon, eighty acres of land lying in the State of Indiana and in the county of Steuben, and fifty dollars in money to be paid out of my property.

I will to my grandson, Robert L. Ferguson, fifteen dollars to be paid out of my property.

I will to my son John H. Ferguson, five dollars to be paid out of my property.

I will to my two sons, Robert B. Ferguson, Jr., and Edwin Ferguson, all of my personal property, except the household goods wiled to my wife, and all the real estate belonging to me at my death, except the eighty acres of land willed to my daughter, Julina Runyon, lying in the State of Indiana, and the twenty-five acres willed to my wife, for her use during her natural life and at her death to come into possession of said land.

I hereby appoint Robert B. Ferguson Jr., and John H. Ferguson, the sole executors of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made.

Witness whereof I hereto set my hand and seal, the twenty-third day of February, in the year of the Lord one thousand and eight hundred and fifty-eight.
