Born about 1815 and died August 8, 1877. Augustus married America Jane Moore around 1840. A. T. Dickerman, who once met Ogeese, described him as being "a giant in stature, being fully six feet six inches tall, with monstrous long arms, great big hands, and although he had no extra flesh he weighed 250 pounds."
