He married (3) LUCINDA LUCY STEEL August 19, 1873 in Iron County, Missouri. She was born 1828 in Illinois, and died February 18, 1909 in Witts Springs, Arkansas.

William Marlows tombstone indicates he was born in 1812. The 1860 & 1870 census show he was born in 1822 in Tennessee. The actual date of his birth and place of birth have not been established as of this date. (7-1-2002)

Iron County was organized February 17,1857 from Madison, Reynolds,St. Franciois, Washington and Wayne Counties, and named for abundant Iron Ore.

William Marlow lived in or around Annapolis, Missouri, so the 1850 Census showed it as Madison Conty and the 1860 Census showed it as Iron County. The above note would explain this change in counties.

Fairfax Chief Newspaper articles are missing for six months during William Marlow's death was due to a massive fire in Fairfax, Oklahoma.

Two pictures exsist of William (Bill) Marlow. One shows William Marlow with his third wife Lucinda Lucy Steele and the other picture is with John Alan Marlow and nine other unidentified men with fish. William Marlow is the second from the right hand side of the picture. John Allan Marlow is the first one on the left side of the pictures. These are postive identification by Cora Roberts Davis, granddaughter of William Marlow and Lucinda Lucy Steel Marlow. Her mother was Lidia Evaline (Eva) Marlow Roberts She is the one who has the origianl picture. the picture of John Allan Marlow with nine other men was furnished by Rosa Marlow Mading.

Tombstone reads "Wife of William Marlow", Marlow, Lucy E. died 2/18/1909 age 61. (Witts Springs, Arkansas)

Note; Sarah Marlow was 17 years old when John Alan Marlow was born and he was 5 years old when she got married. This could explain why this was a sister that he did not know very well if at all. Sarah Marlow's birth time was established from the 1850 census record for Madison County, Mo.
