This tree is still a work in progress. There are so many Parkers'that are direct descendants of Milton Parker and Margaret Ratliff, that I cannot put them all on this tree. Lineage includes the undeniable links to Hubbards via Emma and Annie Liza Parkers'. I was able to trace and verify back to Milton and Margaret, information prior to them is currently being researched. According to family history, Milton was born into slavery, how he became a "freed-man" is still unclear.
According to the 1900 Federal Population Census,Margaret was born on the Indian Reservation in Mississippi, her parents are from Mississippi, Milton was born in Alabama and his parents were from Alabama. Margaret is Native American, beleived to be of Cherokee lineage.
Milton is of mixed heritage, African American and Choctow. They met and married in Mississippi, and parented 11 children.
Census records show and confirm Milton and Margaret were farmers and owned their farm/land in Montgomery County, MS.
The last family reunion was held in Blytheville, AR, 08/2004, of which I atteneded, the next Parker/Hubbard Reunion will be held in Louisianna in 2006.
