This site will feature the descendants of pioneer ancestors who settled along Otter, Muddy, Silver and Tates Creeks in Madison County, Kentucky, prior to 1800 and their descendants, particularly those who stayed in Madison County until 1930. The primary communities these families inhabited are Million, Newby, White Hall, Red House and Union City. Among others, the families included will be Dozier, Newby, Heathman, Parks, Jones, Fowler, Shearer, Thomas, and Biggerstaff.

    The community of Newby, Ky., was named for Bryant Newby, an early settler, whose children settled nearby. These are Bryant's descendants, especially those who stayed in Madison County, Ky.
  • Descendants of Hiram Biggerstaff & Mary Watts (150 KB)
    Hiram Biggerstaff settled in Madison County, Kentucky, about 1800, and married Mary Watts; they raised a large family there, many of whom remained in Madison County through the 19th Century.
