Methodist historical marker affixed to the Durham Homestead there near Perryville, KY. John came to KY from Mecklenburg Co., VA in 1782, 15 years before my fraternal 5GGF Ebenezer Park, Sr. (1747-1839) and Family did from Rowan Co., NC. John founded the first Methodist Church east of the Alleghany Mountains and was a Revolutionary War hero and Grandfather to Congressman Milton Jameson Durham (1824-1911), my 3GGF. John's wife was Martha Bugg (1747-1819).
