First homestead of Hon. Jesse Cobb, Sr. (1769-1836) and Edith Oldham (died 3 weeks after Jesse on 23 June 1836) who arrived from Caswell County, NC in 1795 and built this structure, once a log cabin. This homestead is located near the Kentucky River in Estill County which surrounds it on the Cobb Farm on 3 sides. Steamboats and wagon trains could be seen from it's windows as written in ancestral diaries of descendants of my 4th Great Grandparents. Jesse Cobb, Sr. served in the KY State Legislature in Frankfort.
