Minerva "Mary" Park (1822-1909) is my maternal 3rd Great Grandmother and the daughter to my 4th Great Uncle, Eli Park (1787-1858), son of Ebenezer Park (1747-1839) and Tabitha Mills (1752-1826), my fraternal 5th Great Grandparents! Pictured with Mary is her daughter (sitting in black dress), Betty Cobb-McKinney, unidentified great grandchild and probably Betty's daughter standing in the middle. My Park and Cobb Families are very closely aligned through many marriages and lived primarily in Lincoln and Estill Counties in KY. This picture was graciously provided to me by Eli Park descendant, Roger Deane of Atlanta, GA. Mary witnessed the death of my 5th Great Grandmother at almost 4 years of age and remembered the night for the rest of her natural life as evidenced by the diary entry I found in Eastern Kentucky University's Library in Richmond in June 2000. It was Mary's brief, but very meaningful account that provided the clue as to where my 5th Great Grandparents, Eb and Tab, died and were buried. As it turned out, both passed away while living out their last years with son, Eli Park and wife, Winnaford Dillingham in Eastern Madison County, KY.
