Josiah Park is the son of Isham Park and Dianah Benton of Estill Co., KY. Isham is the son of my 4th Great Uncle and Aunt, Asa Park and wife, Susannah. Asa is the son to my 5GGPs, Eb Park, Sr.(1747-1839) and Tabitha Mills (1752-1826). Josiah fought in the Civil War with the 8th KY Regiment. His mother's (Dianah Benton)brother, Elihu Park Benton married Amanda Covington, Great Granddaughter of my 4th GGPs, John Park (1773-1828) and Polly Peeler (1774-1851) through their daughter, Charity Park m. Henry H. Dillingham (brother to my 4th Great Aunt, Rhoda Dillingham Park-Wilson, mother to Capt John Wilson!)and Granddaughter, Paulina Dillingham m. Milton C. Covington. Elihu and Dianah's sister, Polly Benton, m. Joseph Scrivner, son of Mary Park (daughter to my 5th GGPs)and John Scrivner, Sr. (1782-1850). So, as you can see, there are many connections to my Park Family through Josiah, his mother and her brother and sister. Josiah's grave can be found near Jinks, KY in Miller Cemetery leaning up against a cherry tree. His Uncle, Elihu Park Benton m. Amanda Covington are buried in Eastern Madison County, KY at Red Hill Cemetery (near Panola) as are Charity Park and Henry H. Dillingham. Confusing, I know, read slow and concentrate (smile). It makes sense to me!
