Paternal grandparents of Laura, Dannie Lee Jones & Minnie Claudia Haddock Jones were affectionately known as Deak & Nama. Deak's name came from his interactions with teenagers from the high school across the street from his store. He would tell them how important it was to attend church and read their Bibles. The name Deacon be came is moniker and eventually it was shortened to Deak!
