I'm getting into this Genealogy stuff now. I've just returned from an ancestor searching trip to Western New York. Found lots of Paschen's there. More than I expected.
With the help of the town clerks, especially at Mansfield and Little Valley we were able to trace back to August Paschen, born 1849 Germany. Looking at the records we were able to obtain it appears he came to the U.S. between between 1876 and 1877 with a wife, Louisa, and three children. Louisa's headstone tells us she died in April 1877.

August settled and farmed in the Mansfield area living out his life there. He remarried twice and had four more children.

This information was gathered in just a few days of searching public records and cemetery visiting. The weather was wonderful and the fall leaves were at their peak.

I have just found out that there is a Family Bible. Stay tuned for the rest of the story.

Some of the surnames we are searching are:
Paschen, Awalt, Lipp, Hagen, Starks
