* The Poole ,O'Brien, Lyon, & Snow Home Page*

Updated September 6, 2000

Hi, my name is Claudia Poole Patterson and I began searching for my family roots in 1997. I am going in many directions at this time with hopes of tracking my parents back as far as I can!I was born in Salamanca, NY on February 6, 1949 to Arthur C. and Anna M. O'Brien Poole. My father is the son of Claude and Genevieve Snow Poole from Randolph and Connewango, NY. (Claude's father was Allison (Alanson) and Clara McElwain Poole, his mother. (End of tree at this point). Please continue reading, you will be amased to see how much information I have collected since I originally posted this page!!.My mother is the daughter of Edward and Mary Lyon O'Brien, from Portville, NY. Edward is the son of John J. and Mary Kelly O'Brien, immigrating from Ireland in 1857 and 1870, setteling in Pittsburgh, PA before coming to Portville. John is the son of Charles and Susan O'Brien. Mary Lyon is the daughter of Prince Albert John and Grace Lyon, son of Arthur John and Mary. Thanks to the help of Family Tree Maker and the Ancesterial files, I have been able to locate members of the Poole (Pool) families dating back to the 1700's. I have located three long lost cousins and they each have filled out branches of my tree. My grandfather Claude's father was Alanson Poole, son of Melvin and grandson of Alanson. Alanson had numerous brothers and sisters and imagine my surprise when I was able to locate cousins from three of these brothers!!On my grandmother's side of the family I have been able to trace back to 1575!!! I think if I check further, I will be eligible to join the Daughters of the Revolution. My first link to the Snow's was information recieved from the Cattaraugus Co., NY home page. Imagine my surprise when I found the page, looked up the early pioneers and there was my great great grandfather. From there it was easy to locate census reports, wills and other links. So you can see, my tree has expanded and grown a lot since I first started. Any further information you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Please contact me at cp0249@bigfoot.comIf you have access to Family Tree Maker, check out our tree!I will be happy to share any information I have. Thanks.....
