Isaac was named in his father's will, July 9, 1817, as the youngest son and a minor at that time.He became a minister and settled in Texas.On October 11, 1876 in DeWitt County, Texas, Isaac conducted the marriage of his grandson Arthur F. GARY.
In 1830, Isaac and Sarah were living in Lauderdale County, Mississippi where he was listed as a farmer in the census records.He was on the Jasper County, Mississippi Tax Rolls in 1843 and a member of Masonic Harrison Lodge No. 57, Garlandsville, Jasper County, Mississippi in 1843, 1847-1850.Issacwas granted 320 acres (5 1/2 miles from the town site of Helena) on July 16, 1867.The property was located on the waters of Ecleto Creek about 5 1/4 or 5 1/2 miles N25W of Helena, Texas.The original grant was issued in 1834 when the country belonged to Mexico.The grant, no doubt, was originallyissued by the Mexican government to someone else.By 1870, Isaac and Sarah were living in Harris County, Texas and then they settled in Karnes County, Texas prior to the 1880 census.
