| Names: SCHILDKRAUT, SABATKA / SABOTKA, SABOT, SCHIFF (Naphtaly-Rifka), LIEBERMAN, FASSBERG, ROTHMAN, ROTHMAN, MENDELOWITZ, and for my husband: PAVEZA and JOHNSON. Hello. I am seeking information on the following names, and individuals, I have quite a bit of information on the current line and most descendants, but need to find the families and histories to complete my project: Julius SCHILDKRAUT or SABOTKA / SABATKA - born in Sabatka Poland in the late 1880-90's. Came to the USA with family. Younger sibilings including Sol (infant at time of arrival in New York). Mother was Fannie, father was Meyer. Met a divorcee in upstate New York in the 1910's and was thought to have returned to California with the Divorcee, where she was from, subsequent searches have revealed nothing. 2 death records in Social Security could be him, both indicate New York City area as last known residency. Have not located him yet, would like to find descendants/ancestors, or him if he is till alive, would likely be in late 90's - 100's. He was/is my Great-Uncle. Anna LIEBERMAN - Brother David, lived in Canada, sister Rose. Believed to have lived in either New York or Pittsburgh. Married Simon FASSBERG. Looking for her parents, and other ancestors and descendants, also seeking David and Rose. SABOT family - AKA SABOTKA / SABATKA aka SCHILDKRAUT - Family was originally from Czarist Russia. Meyer SCHILDKRAUT fled the Czar's army into Poland. He had a wife who had died and two children (one was named Minnie). Meyer fled to Sabatka(sp) Poland where he took the name of the town, and married a prominent man's daughter, FANNIE (lastname unknown). They had 4 additional children, Anna Sabatka, Rebecca Sabatka, Julius Sabatka, and Sol Sabatka. Sol (my grandfather) later changed the name to Sabot (accuracy of this is questionable, they may have all changed it at Ellis Island). Rebecca now lives in Israel (last I knew). Sol died in 1981. Unknown about Anna. Seeking the Schildkrauts, and information about them, the Sabatka/Sabotka's, Sabot's or anyone who may be related. Meyer was a blacksmith. MENDELOWITZ/ROTHMAN- Jennie Rothman's daughter Becky(ie?) married Samuel Mendelowitz of New York City . Becky and Samuel had the following children: Kitty (my grandmother), Evelyn, Arthur (later changed his name to MERRILL), and Andrew who died in infancy (aprx. 1917). Looking for information on Jennie and Becky Rothman, and the family of Samuel MENDELOWITZ. The Mendelowitz line is from Odessa, Ukraine, arrived in the United States, it is assumed, in the mid-1800's, or later. They were all business men. Samuel was one of the founders of Odessa in the Lower East side of New York City, he was also know as Mendelovicz (Mendelovich - sp unkown). Kitty married Sol SABOT and had two boys - Theodore (my father) and Lawrence. She had rheumatic fever as a child and died in 1968. SCHIFF (Naphtaly and Rifka) family Circle, please send email to add to my tree. Large Family from Austria/Hungary, seeking information on Naphtaly and Rifka from the cousins. Their children that I know of: Herman and Mary (FELDMAN). Herman married Mary ROTHMAN (seeking this Rothman as well, two Rothmans on both family lines) and had the following children: Milton, Saul, Mortimer, Samuel, Henrietta (KAISER), Sylvia (LITWIN), and Charles. Charles married Edith FASSBERG of Pittsburgh and had two daughters, Rhoda and Carol. Charlie was a dentist in Brooklyn New York. He died in 1986. Seeking information on the ancestory of the Schiff family and other related names. FASSBERG of Pittsburg Pennsylvania (and New York), current living descendants (known) have changed spelling to FASSBURG, Terry and Susan, both of New York City (sister and brother), Susan's children Melissa and Peter. Simon Fassberg and Anna Lieberman (see above for LIEBERMAN) had 4 children: Edith (SCHIFF of New York City and Miami), Frances (PEARLMAN of New York City), David and Florence (PHILLIPS of Dallas, Texas |
