From Orange Co., Indiana, I am researching the families of Bennett, Hammond, Webb, Grimes, White, Montgmery, Cecil, Denny, McKern, Harmon, and Davis. **(My brick wall on this line is Stephen G. White, b. abt 1830 in North Carolina. He married (1)Anna Dixon and (2)Grace Ellen Davis. If you know ANYTHING about these people, please contact me!)** I have a book titled "The William M. Bennett Family" published by Owen Stout of Paoli, Indiana in 1954.

I am researching the families of Boarman, Gardiner, Greenwell, Hagan, Hamilton, Hill, Jarboe, Lyddane, Miles, and Wimsatt. All these families are from Washington Co., Kentucky and surrounding counties. I have a book titled "Genealogy of Thomas Hill and Rebecca Miles," which contains approximately 14,000 individuals. They have been propped up here, right in front of St. Rose. Their son, Joseph Thomas Jarboe, was a priest at St. Rose.

    This article features my great-great uncle, Charles D."Charlie" Hammond. If you look closely you will see that he is part Native American. Family tradition is that his mother, (my great-great-great-grandmother) Susannah Harmon, was a full-blooded Cherokee. The young boy in the photo is his son Carl. Carl and his sister, Sudie, were left orphaned after their mother, Lizzie, died in 1903, and Charlie in 1908, both from Tuberculosis.
