Notes for Winifred Riley: I've found two different sets of parents for Winifred- John Riley and Mary Medley; and Simon Hall and ?. The source that lists Simson Hall, has Winifred listed as Winifred Hall Riley - perhaps she was married before? ____________________________________________________________________________________ [John Wimsatt.FTW] Simon Hall (possibly father of Winifred) made out a will leaving property to Samuel Abell, also leaving property to cousin, Margaret Brown, in "south sholes in the County of Dorom - (Devon?) where "John Williams lives." And to Elizabeth Brown he left "that house in which George Brown lived and likewise the house in which Thomas Carter lived." A "Winifred Abell" witnessed the will of Richard Wimsatt, husband of Katherine, in 1725, along with "Anna Bryan" (O'Bryan?) and Lewis Hasoll. I (F. Jerry Wimsatt) have a baptism of Rebecca Hall, daughter of Acquilla and Mary Hall took place on December 15, 1776. Godparents were Thomas Greenwell and Eleanor Wimsatt. Thomas was her granddaughter's husband and Eleanor Wimsatt? ... was probably her friend. ____________________________________________________________________________________ |

Notes for Samuel Abell: [John Wimsatt.FTW] Samuel Abell, III; Richard Wimsatt; and the Reyley's (Stephen's son, Joseph Zacharia, married Mary Magdalene Reyley ) were next door neighbors in 1742. Philip would only have been a year old at that time. Richard's children however would have been much older, so maybe this was Richard, Jr. and wife, Eleanor. |
