He married Nancy Aunkers638 1782 in prob. Greenbriar638.

Notes for Daniel Pearce:
Heritage of Bradley County printed about 1992:

Daniel Pearce was born in either Surry County, VA, or Frederick County, MD. His parents were Jeremiah and Deborah (Brouwer) Pearce. They were married in Shrewsbury, Monmouth County, New Jersey, at the home of her parents. Adam and Deborah (Allin) Brouwer. They later moved from New Jersey to Virginia, stopping for a time in Maryland. They finally settled in Boletourt/Montgomery Counties in Virginia.
It is believed that this Pierce ancestry connects to the early colonial settlers, Richard (1615-1678) and Susannah Wright Pearce of Musketa Cove, Long Island, New York. Richard and Susannah had five sons, William, Nehemiah, James, Joseph, and John. Nehemiah was born about 1641 in possibly England, or America. He is found in records for Albany, New York as early as 1675 when he purchased property there. One of his sons was Joseph, who also was a resident of Albany. Joseph had ason, Daniel, born 1702 in Albany, NY.
Daniel (1702) married Nancy Bussing on 5/29/1724. Nancy Bussing was from one of many prominent Dutch families of New Amsterdam. Daniel and Nancy had the following eleven children: Joseph (1725), Elizabeth (1727), Jeremiah (1729), James (1733), Emanuel (1734), Catherine (1736), Daniel (1738/twin), Reuben (1738/twin), Thomas (1741), Samuel (1743), and Elisha (1746). Many Pearces across the United States can trace their roots back to this family.
Jeremiah (1729) Pearce was recognized for his service in the French and Indian War (1758-1763)by the King of England. In October of 1779, at Court held in Montgomery County, Jeremiah was issued a certificate for 200 acres of land inVirginia. In addition to their first child, Daniel (1757). Jermiah and Deborah had the following children: Emanuel Job (1758), Francis (1759), Thomas (1761-1826), Jeremiah, James, Robert Daniel (1767-1846), Solomon and Elizabeth.
Daniel probably married in Montgomery or Botetourt County, Virginia. Records of Virginia soldiers of 1776 show Daniel "Piers" having served in Montgomery County under Captain Richard Johnston. He is also found paying taxes in Montgomery County under years 1782-1787. Daniel obtained a land grant in the new territory of North Carolina (early TN) in 1794. He moved to Greene County and later to McMinn County. His known children are: David (1783), Lewis (1785) and Daniel, Jr. (1790). He is found in many early Greene County court and tax records. Daniel and son, Lewis, lived in the same tax district in the years 1809-1812.
Daniel, Sr., his sons, and several other Pearce households were in McMinn County in 1830. David (1783-1884) married Sarah Bartlett in Blount County, Lewis married Sally Graham (7/9/1807), and Daniel, Jr. married Christina Baker (5/22/1816) in Greene County

  Notes for Christiana Girdner:
Bonnie J. Miller writes:

Christiana Baker, Widow of William, and her children are named in Isaac Baker's will in Greene County. On May 23, 1816, Christiana married Daniel Pearce Jr. in Greene County. Before William Baker left for the War of 1812, he had asked Christiana ot may his friend, Daniel Pearce, Jr. should anything happen to him. Christiana was a young widow with a son John, age four and a daughter, Deliliah, age two. A little less than two years after William's death, Christiana wisely followed this advice and married Daniel. They later moved to McMinn County, Tennessee. In 1825, they went to court to apply for whatever benefits might have resulted from William's service. The Court records acan be found both in William's service record and in McMinn County, Tennessee Court records. Bounty land was awarded, but it was located in an inaccessible part of Arkansas and was never claimed. Christiana and Daniel had a large family of their own, and Christiana continued ot live in McMinn County until her death.
