Uncle Nick Hoffman went west in 1849 to the California Gold Fields. After several years and the opening of the Gold Fields in the Black Hills of South Dakota, Uncle Nick Hoffman decided to settle down and found his place along the Creek named Cabin. Uncle Nick established a link back home to the Zimmerschied Family in Illinois. Then the young Zimmerschied Brothers started west to follow their dreams in Wyoming. All settled in Moorcroft, Carlile and Sundance, Crook County, Wyoming.
