Grandmother Florence (Mitchell) Pearson was born on June 27,1879 in Taylorsville, Alexander County, North Carolina. She was the daughter Soloman Leander Mitchell and Amanda Elizabeth (Looper) Mitchell. Her family members are descendants of Gavin Mitchell from Argyle, Scotland. The original Mitchell Families settled first in Pennsylvania in the 1730's,they later moved to North Carolina as it was opened up to settlements.
