Notes for Benjamin Law:
Benjamin Law was the fifth child of Joseph Law and the third child of Joseph and Mary Bradwell.He was born in South Carolina about 1770 and was brought to Georgia as an infant by his parents.He was a planter and lived at Sunbury, where all his children were born.He married Mrs. Mary Sandiford Maybank.She was the daughter of Mrs. Mary Sandiford who afterward married his father, Joseph Law, as his fifth wife.He took an active part in the life of Sunbury and was one of the Trustees of the Sunbury Academy.
He died March 1, 1827 and was buried from the residence of his son, Judge William Law.Interment in Colonial Cemetery.Notice in Georgian of March 1, 1827 noted the funeral of the father of William Law.His wife died March 26, 1832 and was buried in Colonial Cemetery.
There were six children of this marriage, Judge William Law being the eldest.
