Notes for George Arnold: b. 1737 in King George County, Virginia and married Sarah WHITE in the same county November 9, 1758 when he was 21 years old. A record of the marriage is found in St. Paul’s Parish Register, November 9, 1758. He moved to and occupied some of the land his father, Isaac Arnold II, had bought Spotsylvania County and lived on this land until his death in 1822. There are many records of his transactions on the Spotsylvania County books; particularly after the death of his wife he begins to give parcels of his land to his children, among them being Mary Arnold, wife of John Stewart III. The Revolutionary War records list George Arnold as Drummer at times but because of his age his actual service was not of long duration.
