"The Peckham Family (Bill & Ann) Home Page."
Nice to meet you on our home page. We are presently researching several family names at different time periods and locations. We would appreciate any help you are able to provide and we are quite willing to share in our research: "Peckham", "Ellicott", "Stiling", "Bishop", "Middleton", "Hatfield", "Nightingale", "Taylor" of Thorpe, Surrey, "Morris", "Nicholls", "Thulluson", "Street", "Stuart", "Baker", "Sheldrick"."Baker" family of West Sussex, England. My great grandfather, John (Johannes) Baker (perhaps Becker) emigrated from Nassau, Germany to Worthing in Sussex with his two brothers Phillip and George approximately 1870 at the young age of 19. The three brothers were all professional musicians and left Germany during the time of the Franco-Prussian War in Europe. They all settled in the Worthing area and were married and raised their families there working as musicians. John married Lavinia Street of Brighton in 1874 and they raised their family in Worthing. Lavinia's parents were Sarah Street of Brighton and Peter Thulluson. "Stuart" family - William Stuart married Mary Taylor in Chelsie, London in 1841 and raised their family in Thorpe, Surrey, England. William's father's name was Charles Stuart. |
