Notes for Mary Ellen Lutz: Mary's first job was in a drug store working at the take out counter. She would make and wrap sandwiches for the customers. She would later show here children how the wax paper was folded and taped at the bottom. Later she would wrap here children's sandwiches the same way everyday for school. One Christmas when the family could not afford toys Mary made at least two stuffed animals, one for Gary, that was soft and fluffy and a stuffed horse for Judy. Judy was about 16 at the time and was upset that hers wasn't soft like Gary's toy. She says that now she would give anything to have it back again.
