The ADAM WEBER Family of Central Illinois
I'm researching my great-grandparents: Adam Weber Jr., b.July 7, 1826 in Prussia & Anna Maria Becker (later changed to Baker) b.Feb. 29, 1832 in Prussia. Adam & Anna were married February 1, 1859 in Westum, Rheinland, Prussia. Their marriage translation states that Adam was from Dubuque, Iowa (came to the US in 1854 then returned to Germany in 1859 to get Anna.) His parents are listed as Adam & Ida Heuser Weber both of Westum & deceased at the time. Anna's parents are listed as Francis & Veronica Becker from Gimmigen. Witnesses were Francis Becker of Gimmigen & Christian Martens of Kirchdaun. Adam & Anna arrived in New York from Antwerp aboard the "J.H.Elliot" in May of 1859. They settled in central IL (around Atlanta & later Cooksville, IL). Have traced the Webers to the 1700's in Westum, but still searching for the Beckers of Gimmigen. I would appreciate any help, & I'm willing to share what I have with anyone that's interested. |
