Notes for Pierre Dupre': From the book HISTORY OF THE UPPER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY, printed in the late 1800's.
Peter (Pierre) Dupre' is a native of Canada, born on May 11, 1834. He resided with his parents until 18 years of age, and the following year came to Minnesota, resicing in Little Canada most of the time until 1859, then bought a farm in Centerville township, on which he lived 3 years, disposed of it, purchasing the place where he now resides. He was married on January 10th, 1858, to Miss Julia Bergner (Bernier). They have had nine children, eight of which are living. Mr. Dupre' has always taken a lively interest in the development of the township, holding at different times a number of local offices.
From the book "Our Bernier - Dupre - Marier - Ouimette Family Line" by Mary Oberg Willroth:
The property listed under Victor Dupre's name on most of the old maps of Centerville is where Pierre and Julia first lived when they came to Centerville. According to Della Tourville, the deed for their property in Centerville shows Oliver Dupre as the original owner, and as far as I can tell, they are all the same piece of property. According to Laura LaMotte, Julia said they had a shack on the wooded section of this property when they first came to Centerville. The LaMotte and Dupre-Tourville properties bordered on each other.
