* Pemble Families*

Updated March 30, 2007

There were two major migrations of Pembles of which I am aware. The first came in the 1700s to Virginia and into the South of our country. The second came during the 1800s to Canada and New England and spread across the northern part of the continent.

The Pembles that I know are part of the second migration. I married into one of these families. I know the family group came in 1844 and are first documented in New York State, Saratoga County. They moved west to Illinois and then to Iowa where most of them stayed.

I have been given a large number of family constellations by one family member now deceased. For many of these there are no dates so the information is useful only in a genealogy. I am willing to share some of this in return for information I need. In particular I want to document the ship and harbor in 1844.
