The Minot(t)-Penman Connection

Updated August 17, 2002

I am interested in hearing from any descendants of George Minot (1594-1665) of Dorchester, Mass. Though it now seems like a monumental task, I am still compiling as much information as possible on descendants. Any anecdotes, stories, photos/paintings would be greatly appreciated. My grandfather was Edward Harry Minot, born 1903 in Racine, Wisconsin. His parents divorced when he was a few years old. His mother, Hazel Idel Drury, married Robert Burns Penman and the family later relocated to Los Angeles, California. Robert Penman adopted Edward. Interesting to note too, that his birth certificate lists him as MINOT. His father reverted back to the MINOTT spelling a few years later, which was the way his branch of the family spelled it. The spelling makes no difference, they are of the same family.
