The Penningtons of Manchester, KY and Richmond, IN

The ancestors and descendants of James Pennington (1835- ????) are the subjects of my research. I found James Pennington listed in the 1870 federal census conducted in Manchester, KY, Clay County. He married Jane White in 1869, and they became parents to ten children: Daniel, Alexander, James Jr., Nellie, Delora, William, Walter, Lizzie, Edward, and Ethel. James apparently lived his entire life in Manchester, Kentucky.

I am trying to find information about the ancestors of James Pennington and Jane White. This is proving to be a daunting task, so any help will be very much appreciated.

My grandfather is William Pennington, who married Mary Thompson, daughter of Abraham Thompson. They relocated to Richmond, Indiana in the 1930's. Their children are: Cecile, Daniel, Clarence, Lucy, Robert, Maryland (Jack), Alex, Nellie, Edna, Georgia, Rose, Willis, and Florida.

Other surnames of interest are White, Thompson, Mize, Hipshier, Lyttle, and Potter.

Any information will be appreciated. I am also willing to share the information I have.
