Notes for Alma Winifred Duncan: Alma died of injuries received in an airplane crash when a Braniff Airways passenger plane crashed into a farmyard near Kewanee, while attempting to land in a sleet storm on an emergency landing field. The pilot of the plane, Jack Ayers had invited Alma to come along with him on the flight from Kansas City to Chicago and the accident occurred when Jack tried to land the plane for the night because of bad weather. Her younger sister, Edith reached the hospital in Kewanee four hours before she died but Alma never regained consciousness during that time.
The last seven years of her life she lived in Kansas City, MO, and worked as a model.
Her sister Edith, died just 4 months later of pneumonia.
