John PENMAN, his wife Mary STODDART, and their children (David, John and Elisabeth) emigrated from Newbattle Parish, Midlothianshire, Scotland in 1827. His mother, Elizabeth STODDART, and siblings joined him in 1828. They were Margaret, Catherine (wife of George THOMPSON), Elizabeth (wife of John WALKINGSHAW), James, Isabella, Alexander and Robert. They settled in Schuylkill Co., PA, where James married Maria ROBBINS, Isabella married Alexander THOMPSON (brother of George) and Robert married Mary Heafly. John moved to Columbia Co., PA before 1846. MORE TO FOLLOW!
